Sage Hill Farms
~Tea Tips
For Spring-Time~
With
spring comes a renewal mindset. We are busy cleaning-out, replacing, and adding
to many areas of our lives.
The one
place we should put great emphasis is of
course our inner self, or spiritual needs, that place inside that gives us
strength and courage to move forward and know there are rewards for our
suffering.
Bee balm
( also known as Bergamot ) is a very special herb and ingredient in a lovely
spring time tea. It's a
calming and soothing herb which translates to a tea with the same properties.
The most
famous tea made from this herb is "Oswego"....and the credit goes to
the Oswego Indian tribe who made the drink popular after the
Boston Tea party in 1773. Of course the main use for the times and the Indians
were medicinal. It remains so today for those who practice the more natural
health care.
Earl Grey
is well know and a popular tea in many settings. The main ingredient in this
blend is Bee balm/Bergamot.
PS: In my
garden of herbs, on any given day I can watch the butterflies flitting from one
flower to another, they never stop for more than a second...except on the Bee
Balm, there they will light for what seems like hours, totally relaxed and
soaking up the nectar that fuels them for the spring and summer ahead.
I do
believe there is a lesson there.
Happy
Spring~
